Linden Street Construction Begins in February

The City of Fort Collins will move forward with constructing planned improvements at the intersections of Linden and Jefferson streets and Linden and Walnut streets beginning in early February. To safely build the improvements, temporary closures for vehicles at the Linden/Walnut intersection will be necessary.

Planned improvements will not affect existing outdoor dining areas established on Linden Street, and pedestrian access to local businesses will be maintained throughout the project. Completion is expected by Spring 2021.

This work is part of the Linden Street Renovation Project, the bulk of which has been postponed to help support economic recovery due to COVID-19.

Fort Collins has a New Parks & Recreation Master Plan!

After more than a year of extensive staff, community and stakeholder participation, City Council unanimously adopted an updated Parks & Recreation Master Plan on January 19, 2021.

Crafted as a visionary document to guide the future of the City’s Parks, Park Planning & Development, and Recreation departments, the plan showcases the vital role that parks and recreation play in the overall landscape of Fort Collins. Moving forward, the Master Plan will serve as an overarching framework, enabling staff to prioritize current and future projects, align to common goals and outcomes, and work from a set of standards for equity and consistency across the community.

Key outcomes of the updated Master Plan include:

  • A new vision statement, connecting parks and recreation to a holistic vision of public space for the future
  • New system for classifying parks and recreational facilities
  • Updated design guidelines for parks and recreational facilities
  • Guidelines for evaluation and managing the total cost of ownership
  • Assessment of current service standards and recommendations for future amenities
  • Analysis of funding needs with financial recommendations for further consideration
  • Recommendations for policy approaches that align with the overall plan vision

Want to learn more about the finished plan? Visit ourcity.fcgov.com/parksandrec to view the plan in its entirety, along with a condensed Executive Summary.

Help Keep Fort Collins Safe & Keep NoCo Open

COVID-19 continues to impact Larimer County, and we need to stay vigilant to Keep NoCo Open. We can all help stop the spread of COVID-19 if we work together and we don't give up! What are everyday actions you take to help?

  • Avoid get-togethers with anyone outside of your immediate household.
  • Wear a mask or face covering when outside your home and near others.
  • Stay physically distant when you’re around others (at least 6 feet apart).
  • Support our local businesses (save time and shop locally by ordering online or picking up curbside).
  • Wash your hands frequently!
  • Stay home if you’re not feeling well or have been exposed.
  • Keep caring for each other! (This situation is hard, but kindness is free).

Let's continue to work together, take care of each other and Keep NoCo Open!

And don't forget to check out ForFortCollins.com for stories, tools, resources, and ideas for both business and community members to help our businesses reopen strongly and safely.
