Thanks for subscribing! You are receiving this message because you have signed up for the City of Fort Collins COVID-19 Update. Updates will be published on the first and third Wednesdays of the month unless there are urgent updates to share.

Dear friends, neighbors and colleagues -

Thank you for all you've done to keep our neighbors healthy and support the community through this exceptional year. While infections are still widespread in Fort Collins, it does not look like we had a big surge locally after Thanksgiving, which is a testament to your commitment to doing your part to help slow the virus' spread. I encourage you to continue that diligence in the coming weeks, while also finding safe and meaningful ways to celebrate the holidays.

Wishing you a happy, healthy holiday season,

Darin Atteberry, City Manager

Vaccination Allocation & Distribution
Colorado Department of Health and Environment (CDPHE) is preparing for vaccine allocation and distribution. Until a vaccine is widely available, Coloradans should continue to avoid in-person interactions, physical distance and wear a mask. For more about COVID-19 vaccines in Colorado, please see here.

Guidance for Places of Worship | CDPHE Updates
CDPHE updated their guidance for places of worship to categorize them as a critical service. This includes:
  • Virtual and outdoor services are strongly recommended
  • In-person indoor services are allowed at a capacity that allows 6 feet of distance between parties
  • Masks are required for any indoor worship service or life rite ceremony
  • Social gatherings and events tied to a life rite ceremony are not allowed to take place indoors in Level Red, such as a reception following a wedding ceremony
    • These may take place outdoors following outdoor event guidance at this time

Holiday Safety
The safest way to celebrate the holidays this year is at home with people you live with. If you do travel or spend time with others, it's important that you remember to wear a mask, stay 6 feet apart and wash your hands often.

Looking to stay warm while still supporting local? Enjoy free delivery with NoCo Nosh this Monday, December 14 - Wednesday, December 16 when you order food from a Fort Collins restaurant. Check out NoCoNosh.com or download it in the app store for free delivery this Monday - Wednesday.

As an additional piece of the NoCo Nosh partnership, from now until December 30, 2020, the City will pay the restaurant’s portion of the delivery fees, which will eliminate the fees that restaurants typically pay for NoCo Nosh to take, process and fulfill a takeout or delivery order on their platform.

Beginning December 31, 2020, until December 31 2021 or until all governing public health agencies have lifted indoor dining restrictions (whichever comes first), the City has negotiated:
  • A discounted delivery cost of 15% and takeout cost of 12.5% for restaurants that use NoCo Nosh services
Any licensed Fort Collins restaurant may participate in the program, even if they have an existing contract with NoCo Nosh or any other third-party delivery vendor. Fort Collins restaurants not currently signed up with NoCo Nosh can also be added to the platform at no cost until December 30, 2021. Sign your Fort Collins restaurant up for NoCo Nosh delivery & takeout services today.

Community

State of Colorado’s Property Owner Protection Program
Many in our community are impacted by job losses due to COVID-19, and thousands of households are facing financial crises and are unable to pay rent. There's a rapid increase in emergency rental support requests, and nonprofits are experiencing significant backlog as a result. These nonprofits are bringing on new staff, borrowing staff from other organizations, training volunteers, and leveraging all available resources to manage the requests. However, the waiting time for a first response to an application is currently 12 days, and this is expected to grow.

Landlords can receive support to cover delinquent rent through the State of Colorado’s Property Owner Protection (POP) Program. Many local landlords are taking advantage of this program, submitting brief paperwork each month and receiving regular batches of rent assistance from the state. Landlords can also apply for multiple months in arrears, if needed.

The POP program is for residents with incomes up to 100% Area Median Income (AMI) and who reside in single family, multi-family or mobile home parks. It is not for subsidized units. See here for additional POP information.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. If you’re an eligible landlord, apply to POP now.
  2. If you’re a landlord who has already received POP funding, please spread the word about the benefits of applying to POP.
  3. Please share this email with your networks.

County Health

Larimer County Public Health's Risk Dashboard helps community members understand risk and COVID-19 data relevant to our county. The dashboard highlights the early warning indicators to monitor the health of our hospital systems and COVID-19 case data. Some indicators are updated daily, while hospital data will be updated three times a week.

Let's continue to take care of each other and Keep NoCo Open! Here are the ways we can all do our part:

  • Only gather with the people you live with. Now isn’t the time to have people over or to go out in groups.
  • Wear a mask when you enter a business and whenever you're around people you do not live with.
  • Wash hands and clean surfaces often.
  • Maintain social distancing away from those you do not live with.
  • Be diligent in your efforts to keep yourself, family, friends and neighbors safe, We’re all getting tired of this, but we need to redouble our efforts.

Don't give up. We can do this together, Fort Collins!
