Digital Access & Equity Program

The City of Fort Collins is committed to reliable, affordable, gigabit speed internet service for our entire community. Connexion is working directly with current income qualified residents to ensure that a digital equity rate is available when service is available in their area. Throughout 2021, these residents can expect direct notification of service and rate availability as Connexion is available.

As buildout and full citywide service is available Connexion and other City programs will work together to provide more accessible and more comprehensive income qualified programing.

DIGITAL ACCESS & EQUITY IN OUR COMMUNITY

Digital Access
Neighbor to Neighbor, Coachlight Plaza

Sixty-eight (68) households of Neighbor to Neighbor's Coachlight Plaza will be invited to enroll in Digital Access & Equity Connexion service in February 2021.

Residents will receive onsite support with enrollment, terms of the current internet contract (and potential fees for discontinuing service), in-home technical support, and support with commonly used applications. This partnership will allow City staff to cull user-experience feedback, knowledge of hardware ownership, and information about family utilization.

Development of an Online Application:
Code for America

The online application for the City's soon-to-be launched Digital Access & Equity program will serve as a footprint for the future development of a single point of entry to all of the City's income qualified programs.

Code for America's Community Fellowship program has employed 3 technologists to work in close collaboration with the City through September 2021 to develop the online application and income verification portal which will be available in English and Spanish.
