Celebrate Water!
During 2012, the City of Fort Collins is celebrating the Year of Water with events and activities throughout the year, bringing the statewide Colorado Water 2012 campaign to the local level.
Water has shaped our community from its earliest history. During 2012, discover the past, present and future of water in Fort Collins. Kicking off the celebration, Mayor Karen Weikunat proclaimed 2012 as the Year of Water (PDF 67KB).
Join the City in celebrating the value of water in our community by attending local water events.
Events over the summer will include a Poudre River watershed tour for residents and the Big Splash event at the Old Water Works on Overland.
2012 is a milestone year for water:
- 130th anniversary of the Fort Collins Water Utility
- 75th anniversary of major Colorado water legislation
- 40th anniversary of Poudre Landmarks Foundation
- 20th anniversary of the Fort Collins Year of the River
