Residences and businesses located in a four-square-mile area in zip code 80525 (see map) will have their electric and water meters updated in Phase I. In March 2012, crews began replacing meters using this process. Utilities selected this area for initial deployment because of the diversity of residential and business customers.
During this phase, Utilities crews will install the new electric meters, and a contractor will complete the water equipment replacements. Crews will be easily identified by uniforms, badges and marked vehicles.
Once meters are replaced, Utilities will compare manual and digital meter readings for a few months.
