Electric Demand Rate


Demand Rate

The demand rate is available to those customers with homes heated entirely with electricity and who submitted verification prior to April 1, 2012, as stated in City Code.

New customers connected after April 1, 2012, will be billed on the residential energy rate.

Demand Rate Codes: E110, A110*, B110*

Effective on meter readings on or after Jan. 1, 2017.


*Codes beginning with the letter 'A' or 'B' represent annexed areas where additional Rural Electric Association (REA) service-rights fees apply. A fee equal to 5 percent is added to 'A' rates and a 25 percent fee is added to 'B' rates.


These rates are only available for customers who certify to Utilities that the residence is heated entirely with electric energy.

Depending on electric use, the residential energy rate may be more cost-effective.

Medical Assistance Program

Qualifying households may receive utility bill discounts on electricity costs for medical equipment or air conditioning through the medical assistance program.


Meter Access

Customers are responsible for maintaining safe and unobstructed meter access.
