Submittal Procedure

Application Timeline

Residential rebate funds now have been committed with over 70 rebates offered. New residential rebate requests will be placed on a waitlist. Five commercial rebates remain available. Submit your application via email to .

Step 1: Before Purchasing Photovoltaic (PV) Equipment

Step 2: Submit Solar Rebate Application

  • Review FAQs and work with your PV installer to prepare and submit Part 1 of the rebate application (XLS 133KB) via email to .
  • Contact contractor and/or equipment manufacturer for assistance on required information.

Step 3: Purchase Equipment and Install System

Fort Collins Utilities will notify you if your rebate application is accepted. If selected:

  • obtain building permits, purchase equipment, install and test system
  • complete installation within six months
  • schedule on-site energy audit through the Home Efficiency Program or alternate provider

Please inform us if you will not proceed with your installation.

Step 4: Request Inspection from Utilities

Contact Utilities to request inspection of PV system from Fort Collins Utilities Electric Engineering. This inspection is in addition to any inspection required by Fort Collins Building and Zoning.

  • If system fails inspection, complete required change(s) and request another inspection.
  • When system passes inspection, provide the following to receive Permit to Operate from Fort Collins Utilities:

Rebate check will be mailed to address on application in approximately six weeks.
