Submittal Procedure


Application Timeline

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis via e-mail at . Applicants who do not receive a rebate will be placed on a wait list.

As of May 1, 2012, funds for two commercial rebates remain.


Step 1: Before Purchasing Photovoltaic (PV) Equipment

Step 2: Submit Solar Rebate Application

  • Review FAQs and work with your PV installer to prepare and submit Part 1 of the rebate application (XLS 163KB) via e-mail to .
  • Contact contractor and/or equipment manufacturer for assistance on required information.

Step 3: Purchase Equipment and Install System

Fort Collins Utilities will notify you if your rebate application is accepted. If selected:

  • obtain permits, purchase equipment, install and test system
  • complete installation within six months
  • schedule on-site energy audit through the Home Efficiency Program or alternate provider

Please inform us if you will not proceed with your installation.

Step 4: Request Inspection from Utilities

Contact Utilities to request inspection of PV system from Fort Collins Utilities Electric Engineering. This inspection is in addition to any inspection required by Fort Collins Building and Zoning.

Step 5: Operate System

Rebate check will be mailed to address on application in approximately six weeks.
