Construction Begins Next Week on West Vine Stormwater Project

Posted on: Nov-14-2013

Construction will begin next week on the West Vine Outfall Stormwater Project, located in the West Vine Stormwater Basin. Tree trimming will begin Monday, Nov. 18, with Poudre Trail closures likely starting Wednesday, Nov. 20.

From now until early spring 2014, portions of the Poudre Trail will be closed for construction, tree removal and excavation work. Visit https://www.fcgov.com/west-vine-outfall for detour information and updates.

The project will focus on flood mitigation and water quality improvements as identified in the West Vine Stormwater Master Plan and is jointly funded by the City of Fort Collins and Larimer County.

Approximately 50,000 cubic yards of dirt will be excavated to create a 3,300-foot stream corridor and two water quality detention areas. These improvements also will provide opportunities for enhancement of wildlife, riparian and aquatic habitat along the stream.
