Switch to ENERGY STAR Efficient Bulbs to Save

Posted on: Oct-21-2013

Save on energy-efficient light-emitting diode (LED) and compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs, including LED holiday light strings at local stores.

Fort Collins Utilities and Platte River Power Authority are partnering with local retailers (see list online) to offer discounted pricing on ENERGY STAR qualified CFLs and LEDs and Lutron dimmers and occupancy sensors.

Conventional incandescent lighting is being replaced as more efficient technologies, such as CFLs and LEDs, develop and prove to be reliable and affordable.

In addition, to promote energy efficiency during the holiday season, an ongoing discount of $2 off LED holiday light strings will be available November 1 through December 24 at Clay’s Ace, Downtown Ace, Josephs’ Hardware and The Light Center (while supplies last, no rain checks).
