Sign Up to Keep Fort Collins' Rank as First in the National Water Conservation Challenge

Posted on: Apr-02-2013

The City of Fort Collins currently is ranked #1 in The National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation, which kicked off April 1. With the help of the community, Fort Collins can maintain this status and win the title as “most water-wise city in the nation.”

Join Mayor Weitkunat and sign the pledge to reduce Fort Collins’ water consumption at http://mywaterpledge.com, now through April 30. Hosted by The Wyland Foundation, this pledge challenges residents to conserve water above and beyond typical daily practices.

Cities with the highest percentage of residents who make the commitment will be entered to win hundreds of prizes, including a Toyota Prius c, water-saving fixtures and gift certificates.

“This is a great year to showcase our community’s water conservation efforts given our current water shortage,” said Mayor Karen Weitkunat. “The challenge also dovetails nicely with Fort Collins Utilities’ existing water conservation programs and current rebates.”

It takes only a couple minutes to take this free pledge and join the challenge at http://mywaterpledge.com.
