Fort Collins Utilities to Host Free Home Improvement Workshops in May

During May, Fort Collins Utilities will host free home improvement workshops to help customers learn how to improve the efficiency of their homes, both indoors and out, at:
• Home Depot North, May 5, 10 a.m.-noon
• Home Depot South, May 5, 1-3 p.m.
• Lowe’s Home Improvement, May 19, 1-4 p.m.

The workshops will highlight ways residential customers can save water outdoors by learning how to make sprinkler system repairs, adjust settings and upgrade to more efficient equipment. Specialists will provide summer energy- and water-saving tips and showcase a variety of recommended ENERGY STAR and WaterSense products.

Information about home efficiency audits ($60), free sprinkler audits, rebates and incentive programs also will be available. Participants will be eligible to receive a variety of door prizes, giveaways and drawings, including home efficiency audits plus $500 toward improvements and $250 toward landscape/sprinkler system upgrades.

Residents also can receive a double rebate of $70 for qualifying WaterSense toilets through July (must be a Utilities water customer). Double rebates are valid only for qualified purchases made April 1 through July 31 and applications must be submitted by August 31.
