Interested in greening up your meeting or event? By planning ahead to reduce waste and use materials that are recyclable and compostable, it's easy to shrink the environmental footprint of your meeting or event.
Most local caterers can support green events by providing food in bulk and in reusable containers. Some also provide compostable dishes and flatware or reusable plates and cups. For suggestions of local caterers, contact the City of Fort Collins Environmental Services Department at 970-221-6600.
Hotels and conference centers can often provide reusable dishes and flatware for an additional fee.
For more general information on green meetings and what you or your organization can do to minimize the environmental impacts of holding events meetings, see the EPA’s Green Meetings resource page.
