Aquatics

The Aquatics program provides all ages with the opportunity to learn how to swim and learn about safety involved with being around water. Ages 6 months and up, can participate in our swim lesson program taught by swim instructors throughout the year at various pool locations. You may choose from a variety of classes for beginners to advanced swimmers, including parent participation classes, preschool and level classes, springboard diving, training for lifeguards, water safety instructors as well as private swim lessons to fit your needs.

Youth Learn to Swim

Baby & Me 1-3
Age: 6-18 months
Parents help to introduce infants to the water while learning how to work with their child safely in the water. Register here.
Age: 10 months-2 years

Parents help introduce children to the water using songs, working on building confidence, and becoming comfortable in and around the pool. Register here.
Age: 2-4 years

For toddlers who aren't ready to be in the water without a parent. Basic water activities are introduced. Register here.

Ages: 3-6
Pollywog

For the child who is new to the water, will not put their face in the water, and can hold on to the side of the pool independently. Register here.
Tadpole

For the child who will put their face in the water, can perform supported front and back floats without apprehension, and will explore the water freely without free. Register here.
Froggy
For the child who can front float with their face in the water without support, can back float for 5 seconds without support, and can submerge and pick up objects in shallow water. Register here.

Ages 5-12
Level 1
For the child who can roll from front to back without support, streamline front glide 5 feet without support, and jump into the shallow water without support. Register here.
Level 2
For the child who can comfortably glide on their front and back for 5 seconds, front float with arm reach, and fluttre kick on front and back with forward motion freely without fear. Register here.
Level 3
For the child who can perform 5 rotary (side) breaths with a kickboard, swim across the pool 25 years (any stroke), jump into deep/shallow water and move to the side comfortably, and can swim 10 yards elementary backstroke. Register here.
Level 4
For the child who can swim 25 yards freestyle (perfected), flutter kick without a kickboard for 25 yards, perform 10 deep water bobs, and is comfortable in deep water. Register here.
Level 5
Develop proficient technique for all six basic srokes. Swim greater distances using each stroke and add correct turns for each stroke. Continue to increase safety knowledge in all aquatic enviroments. Register here.

Lifeguard Review

Age: 17 years & up
Location: Mulberry Pool
Cost: $48

Opportunity to review the course content within a formal course setting. Individuals with a current American Red Cross lifeguarding/first aid/CPR/AED certificate may participate in a review course. Online class content is 7hrs 25min. Note: Must attend all classes. Skill test on first day; continuation depends on passing. $27 certification fee is not included. Class not discounted.
