Police Investigate Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

 On July 23 at approximately 8:05 pm, Fort Collins Police Services was notified of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of North Timberline Road and Mountain Vista Drive.  This collision involved a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck and a 2000 Infiniti G20 sedan.

The Dodge pickup was traveling east on Mountain Vista approaching North Timberline when the Infiniti sedan attempted to turn westbound onto Mountain Vista from NorthTimberline Road.  The pickup truck struck the driver’s side of the Infiniti sedan.  The driver of the truck, 19 year old John Ryan Boxberger of Fort Collins was taken to Poudre Valley Hospital for minor injuries.  The 70 year old female driver of the Infiniti sedan was taken to Poudre Valley Hospital with serious injuries.  She later succumbed to her injuries.  Her identification will be released at a later time after family notifications have been performed.  The cause and manner of death will be released by the Larimer County Medical Examiner’s office.

Police do not believe speed or alcohol contributed to the collision and are working to determine the circumstances of the collision.  The investigation is continuing.
