Police Investigate Motorcycle Collision

On June 23 at about 8:37am, Fort Collins Police Services received a report of a truck versus motorcycle collision in the intersection of Timberline and Carpenter Roads.
A 1962 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling north on Timberline Road while a 2013 Toyota Tundra was traveling south in the left through lane. At Carpenter Road, the Tundra made a left turn in front of the motorcycle. The front of the motorcycle collided with the front of the Tundra.
The motorcyclist, Douglas Kerns, 61, of Berthoud, was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries. He was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the Tundra, David Suszko, 32, of Fort Collins, was not injured.
The intersection of Timberline and Carpenter Roads was closed for approximately 6 hours while investigators processed the scene. Police to not believe alcohol or speed contributed to the collision. The posted speed limit on Timberline Road is 50mph. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
