This press release was posted 1,508 days ago and may contain inaccurate information.
On June 7 at about 12:45am, Fort Collins Police Services was notified of an injury accident at the intersection of Taft Hill Road and Valley Forge Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 1993 Honda Civic and 1995 Land Rover in the middle of the intersection. The driver of the Honda was trapped in the car.
The 1993 Honda Civic was traveling south on Taft Hill Road in the northbound lanes. Near the intersection with Valley Forge Avenue, the Honda Civic went off the east side of the roadway before steering back onto the roadway and into the intersection. The 1995 Land Rover was traveling northbound on Taft Hill Road in the outside lane and collided head-on with the Honda Civic.
The driver of the Land Rover, Allison Leon, 20, of Fort Collins, was not injured. The driver of the Honda, Kristina Ceja, 22, of Fort Collins, was extricated from her vehicle by Poudre Fire Authority and taken to Medical Center of the Rockies for treatment of serious injuries.
Taft Hill Road was closed to northbound traffic between Drake Road and Stuart Street for about 6 ½ hours while traffic crash investigators processed the scene. Police suspect Ceja was driving under the influence of alcohol, but do not believe speed contributed to the collision. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact Officer Drew Jurkofsky at 970-221-6555.
