The Fort Collins Police Services Internship Program is accepting a limited number of applications for placement beginning in August 2009. Up to three interns will be selected from those applications submitted with priority given to graduating seniors The Internship Program strives to provide a quality educational experience to university or college students by providing the student with a positive "hands on" learning environment in the field of law enforcement, while enhancing their understanding of the criminal justice system. Internship Program Structure Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) offers unpaid internship opportunities for college and university students and attempts to balance the college or university's internship program requirements with the Fort Collins Police Services Internship Program's structure. The internship program will be coordinated through the Fort Collins Police Services' Training Unit. Internship Requirements Internship applicants are required to complete and submit an application packet that contains the following:
Applicants must be enrolled, at the time of the internship, in a college or university internship program with a demonstrated interest in law enforcement. A maximum of one-hundred and fifty (150) internship hours is allowed. Applicant must meet FCPS acceptance standards, pass a background check and drug screen test.
