Topics from Risk Analysis and Vulnerability Assessment to Partnerships and Project Overviews are covered.

Disaster Preparedness and Response Planning
OEM is developing a comprehensive all hazards community response plan for disasters. The plan includes a GIS based "watch desk" concept pre-identifying emergency shelters equipped with back-up power and automated emergency staffing. A public education program is being developed along with this plan, including community maps, so citizens will automatically know where to respond in their neighborhood for help in a disaster. The plan covers situations such as losing all phones, including 911 lines, and will be operational before Y2K.
