Office Of Emergency Management

Welcome to the City of Fort Collins Office of Emergency Management (OEM). Our primary duties include:

  • Disaster planning and mitigation
  • Training and education programs for preparedness, response and recovery
  • Efficient and timely emergency notification

Our main priority is to have Fort Collins residents prepare as individuals, families, and as a community. Our greatest threat generally comes in the form of naturally occurring events such as severe weather.  The top five hazards in Fort Collins are severe thunderstorms, severe winter storms, flooding, tornadoes, and wild wand fires.  While we cannot stop these natural events from happening, we can certainly work together and try to do everything possible to prepare for them, and hopefully mitigate the resulting damage and loss of life.
