The Lincoln Center Support League is once again sponsoring its FREE “Children's Summer Series” with performances on Wednesdays in June and July outside on the Lincoln Center lawn.
Great for children ages 2-12, this series features hour-long presentations of drama, comedy, music and dance. For family fun in the sun, head to the Lincoln Center lawn June 11, 18, 25 and July 9 &16. There is no performance July 2.
Come enjoy the summer sun and delight in these five whimsical performances that will fascinate both young and old alike:
6/11 Debut Theatre’s Wizard of Oz – This audience participation version of “Oz” includes oiling the Tin Man, stuffing the Scarecrow, calming the Cowardly Lion and portraying the forest to hide from the Wicked Witch of the West.
6/18 Iron Family Dancers & Singers – This group, comprised of 8 tribes and 3 generations, will demonstrate the different dance styles of the Native American Intertribal Powwow.
6/25 The Low Flying Knobs Marimba Band - Playing marimba music in Zimbabwean and Afro-pop styles, the "Knobs" are a lively group of women emboding the energy and spirit of the music they play.
7/9 Doctor Noize - “The Doc” performs multiple instruments onstage, and arranges and records songs live on the spot, inviting audience members to come onstage and contribute their own talents.
7/16 Salida Circus - Featuring acrobatic balancing, knife juggling and lots of audience participation, “The Scarlet Sisters Lost Circus” is 60 minutes of circus fun for everyone!
