Rain has pushed back the closure of West Monroe Drive at the College Avenue intersection – work will now start on Monday, March 10 and continue through Thursday, March 13. The closure could be extended if there are additional weather delays.
Crews will excavate the area, install precast boxes, backfill and temporary surface overlay as part of the relocation of Larimer County Canal No. 2. Permanent road surface improvements will be completed in April.
This project, started in January 2014, is designed to make room for a future pedestrian/bicyclist underpass under College Avenue. The relocation work is scheduled for completion in early April.
West Monroe Drive will be closed; business access to this area will be detoured from West Horsetooth Road to South Mason Street. College Avenue will remain open to traffic; however, lane restrictions are in place. Southbound vehicular traffic is reduced to two lanes of traffic. Frontage Road West is also closed in sections. Access to businesses is being maintained at all times.
Project dates are estimates based on favorable conditions; variances may occur due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
