The City of Fort Collins Art in Public Places Program (APP) is requesting designs for artwork to be incorporated into the City’s streetscape. Selected drawings will be sandblasted into granite pavers and placed in various sidewalks around the city. The artwork will be a signature piece in Fort Collins and will be highly visible to the public. This project is in collaboration with the City’s Transportation Department, which works to provide safe pedestrian access by creating new pedestrian routes as well as improving existing areas. Fort Collins youth ages 3 to 18 may submit a black and white line drawing, with a theme of “Celebrating Fort Collins 150th Birthday and what makes Fort Collins unique.” Eligibility is open to youth that reside and/or attend school within the City of Fort Collins city limits. Selected artists will receive $50 honorarium. Entry forms are available on the City of Fort Collins Art in Public Places website at fcgov.com/artspublic/current-competitions.php. All submissions must be received by 5 p.m. on March 21, 2014. ###
