On Nov. 9, 2013 at approximately 12:15 a.m. Fort Collins police were notified of a sex assault in the area of 100 W. Lake St. in central Fort Collins adjacent to the CSU campus.
The victim, a 22 year-old CSU student, was approached by and unknown male while she was driving alone westbound on W. Lake St. The suspect came from the south side of the road and waived her down. He approached the driver’s side of her vehicle and opened the door. The suspect, armed with a knife, physically removed the victim from the vehicle. The male pulled her to the side of the road near the railroad tracks and sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to fight the suspect off and he ran eastbound from the area. During the struggle the victim bit the suspect’s left shoulder and scratched his forearms. The victim was not injured and did not require medical attention.
The suspect is described as African American male, early 20’s, 5’9” to 5’11” with acne on his face, average to muscular build, with short black curly hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with an unknown design on the front and dark jeans.
The victim was able to complete a composite of the suspect.
On Oct. 24, CSU police responded to a sexual assault near the same area. Although the suspect descriptions are different, Fort Collins police are working with CSU police to see if the cases are connected.
