Free Fitness Demo this Saturday at Northside Aztlan

The City of Fort Collins Recreation Department will be offering a free fitness demonstration at Northside Aztlan Community Cente on Saturday, September 14 from 10:00a.m.-12:00 p.m. for members of the community to try Northside’s new fitness classes. The new classes in the demo include Pilates Mat at 10:00 a.m., Turbo Kick at 10:20 a.m., TRX at 10:40 a.m., CrossTrain beginning at 11:00 a.m., Insanity at 11:20 a.m., and Power Vinyasa yoga at 11:40 a.m. Each class will be approximately 20 minutes long. Participants are encouraged to come ready to exercise and experience several new avenues to fitness. Demonstration sessions will be taught by that classes’ regular instructor. The free fitness demo is open to anyone over the age of 14. Class descriptions are listed below.

Pilates Mat
Want a leaner, healthier you? Try this new craze. Gain flexibility, tone and build new muscle. You’ll look and feel great!

Turbo Kick
Turbo Kick gets the party started with cardio kickboxing choreographed to the hottest music mixes. Its high intensity, fas-t paced and totally addicting. Get ready to kick, jab and punch your way to a new you!

TRX
TRX is a new and popular way to exercise using suspension straps and your body weight. All of the exercises can be done using the same suspension strap by simply adjusting it to different angles and the only weight that is needed is your own. Get a great strength workout while burning fat and gaining better balance.

CrossTrain
CrossTrain gives you a full body workout in short intense bursts throughout the duration of the class. CrossTrain is similar CrossFit, but does not include Olympic lifts and instead adds running and stability drills to the weight exercises. Participants will use plyometric boxes, ropes, kettle bells, pull up bars, tires and more to keep the body guessing and improving. CrossTrain is a high intensity workout that will provide you with benefits from head to toe.

Insanity
Are you ready to dig deep? Insanity is a high intensity cardio and strength training workout that will get you insane results in less than two months. It’s a fun, fast-paced workout.

Power Vinyasa
Power Vinyasa Yoga is a relaxing class that is focused on balance, flexibility, and core strength. Having strong core strength leads to a stable center of gravity which can lead to overall stronger body strength and wellness. By doing this class, it will help make your every day tasks less daunting and easier to complete.
