The City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department is pleased to invite the public to enjoy a new trailhead at Reservoir Ridge Natural Area. The new trailhead is off Overland Trail Road, south of Michaud Lane, at 1425 North Overland Trail. The trailhead features parking, a picnic area, a kiosk and a vault toilet. From the new parking lot visitors may hike, bike, walk leashed dogs or ride horses west for 1.4 miles on the Reservoir Ridge Trail to connect with the 6.8 mile Foothills Trail (map attached). Everyone is invited to enjoy the new trailhead and trail!
The Reservoir Ridge Trail from the new Overland Trail Road parking lot is flat and easy. Visitors will travel along hay fields, across a wetland slough via a boardwalk and over the Pleasant Valley and Lake Canal using a bridge. The Reservoir Ridge Trail connects with the 6.8 mile Foothills Trail about 0.4 miles southwest of the Michaud Lane parking lot. The new Reservoir Ridge trailhead is open from dawn to dusk and it is free to visit. Learn more about Reservoir Ridge Natural Area at www.fcgov.com/naturalareas/finder/reservoirridge
Voters make natural areas and trails possible through citizen-initiated sales taxes which fund land conservation and visitor amenities such as this new trailhead and trail, thank you!
