Fort Collins Police have completed their investigation regarding a physical disturbance that occurred on April 6, 2012 at approximately 11:45 PM, near the intersection of Shields Street and LaPorte Avenue. The fight involved ten Colorado State University students and one non-student. Six of the students were Colorado State University football players, but only three were charged as a result of their involvement.
The fight began after words were exchanged by individuals from both groups. Two of the students received serious injuries during the altercation. One of the alleged victims, Donald Gocha, was also charged. He was one of the two who received serious injuries. It is believed that Gocha’s friends were trying to break up the fight and protect Gocha who was knocked unconscious at some point during the incident.
The Larimer County District Attorney’s Office reviewed that case and the following charges have been filed:
Colton Scott Paulhus, DOB/ 06-03-91. Age 20
Disorderly Conduct C.R.S. 18-9-106 (1)(d). Class 3 misdemeanor
Michael Obinna Orakpo, DOB/02-05-91. Age 21
Disorderly Conduct C.R.S. 18-9-106 (1)(d). Class 3 misdemeanor
Nordly Capi. DOB/07-11-92. Age 19
Disorderly Conduct C.R.S. 18-9-106 (1)(d). Class 3 misdemeanor
Donald William Gocha. DOB/03-02-92. Age 20
Disorderly Conduct C.R.S. 18-9-106 (1)(d). Class 3 misdemeanor

Disturbance Investigation
Fort Collins police are investigating a disturbance that occurred at approximately 11:45 PM on April 6, 2012 near the intersection of Laporte Avenue and Shields Street. Four male subjects in the disturbance were injured, including two who sustained serious bodily injuries.
Witnesses indicated that seven males riding in a white SUV stopped and confronted the victims walking near the 1000 block of Laporte Avenue. Words were exchanged and five of the males exited the vehicle and allegedly assaulted the four victims. Following a brief physical fight five of the suspects left east on Laporte in the SUV and two left on foot. The remaining two are considered witnesses in the case.
All four victims were transported by ambulance to Poudre Valley Hospital where they were treated for numerous injuries. Witnesses indicated the police had broken up a large party in the area just prior to the assault. There may have been people walking away from the party in the area at the time of this disturbance who may have witnessed this alleged assault. The case is still under active investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
