Fort Collins police are investigating a disturbance that occurred at approximately 11:45 PM on April 6, 2012 near the intersection of Laporte Avenue and Shields Street. Four male subjects in the disturbance were injured, including two who sustained serious bodily injuries.

Witnesses indicated that seven males riding in a white SUV stopped and confronted the victims walking near the 1000 block of Laporte Avenue. Words were exchanged and five of the males exited the vehicle and allegedly assaulted the four victims. Following a brief physical fight five of the suspects left east on Laporte in the SUV and two left on foot. The remaining two are considered witnesses in the case.

All four victims were transported by ambulance to Poudre Valley Hospital where they were treated for numerous injuries. Witnesses indicated the police had broken up a large party in the area just prior to the assault. There may have been people walking away from the party in the area at the time of this disturbance who may have witnessed this alleged assault. The case is still under active investigation. No arrests have been made.
