It has been a busy two years for Utilities' Home Efficiency Program. With over 1,000 audits completed and close to 400 homes improved as a result, people are talking:

• "I have been telling all my neighbors about the audit."
• "I really liked the audit and how thorough it was. I now have information I can refer back to when I'm ready to do more work."
• "It is a great program with a great price. I am very happy with the audit. It was helpful to find out where the problems were in the house."
• "I have made major changes because of this great program."

The audits ($60) are designed to help improve the efficiency and comfort of the participant’s home and identify ways to conserve energy and water. Conducted by qualified auditors, each audit includes blower door tests to measure air leakage and infrared camera images to reveal areas of air infiltration and missing insulation. Combustion safety tests also are included.

Following the audit, participants receive a report prioritizing the recommended efficiency improvements as well as information on available rebates. The homeowner selects which improvements they would like to complete.

To qualify for rebates, you must:
• be a Utilities electric customer
• occupy a single-family detached home or attached townhome
• have a Home Efficiency Audit completed on your home prior to making improvements (exceptions may apply)
• have the audit and associated improvements completed by a participating contractor (over 40 qualified contractors are listed online)
