Experience Afghanistan…Adventure Cinema presented by the Fort Collins Senior Center and the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures

The Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive, will host an evening for those who want to experience Afghanistan through the eyes of an adventure traveler. Well known traveler and filmmaker Marlin Darrah will be attending the showing of “Afghanistan and Pakistan.” The film and dinner event will be Sunday, March 25 at 3:00 PM at the Senior Center. The cost is $20 in advance (includes an Afghan dinner), $24 at the door, or just $8 for the film only.

Almost daily images of Afghanistan and Pakistan have been common on the news for the last 10 years. The two countries have been suddenly thrown onto the world stage with the war on terrorism. But how much do we really know about these distant and intriguing frontier countries? The evening begins with a multimedia experience created by the award-winning filmmaker, Marlin Darrah, as he personally narrates a journey exploring life on the streets and markets of Kabul, a city of 3 million. Marlin, who has been featured on PBS, the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, CNN, FOX, CBS, ABC, TBN and MTV will be available to answer questions.

After the show the experience continues as Sayed Sayied, the owner of the local Maza Kabob Afghan restaurant will be cooking an authentic Afghan dinner and will be on hand to describe the dishes.
