Natural Areas Department Offers Free Activities in April

Everyone is invited to discover survival secrets, enjoy the night sky and get involved by volunteering! These activities are led by staff and volunteers from the City’s Natural Areas Department and Northern Colorado Astronomical Society-- thank you! To learn more call 970-416-2815 or email .

Survival Secrets
Bobcat Ridge Natural Area, meet in the parking lot.
Take a break from spring break! Bring your family and discover the survival secrets of plants, wildlife, and early people as you walk the one-mile trail to the pioneer cabin. Fun activities and prizes. Arrive anytime between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. The trail is accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. Bring water to drink, jackets, sunscreen, and snacks. Starry Night: Saturn's Secrets
Bobcat Ridge Natural Area, meet at the picnic shelter.
Enjoy the skies in a dark natural area! Learn some fun facts about the ringed planet, Saturn, in a brief program at the picnic shelter, followed by skygazing with telescopes in the parking lot. Bring a jacket, water to drink, and a blanket or chair to sit on. In the event of inclement weather, check ncastro.org for cancellation notices. Free, no registration necessary.
