Police Investigate Pedestrian/Train Collision

Fort Collins police are currently investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian and a train that was traveling southbound along Mason Street between Mulberry and Magnolia Streets this afternoon.
A witness who observed in accident contacted police at approximately 3:45 p.m. to report the collision.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and few details are available at this time.
Mason Street is closed between Magnolia and Mulberry Streets while police process the scene as well as the intersection of Mason and Swallow Road where the train has stopped. Road closures are expected to be in place for several hours. Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes.
