Councilmember Gerry Horak Appointed to National League of Cities Energy, Environment, and Natural Re

City of Fort Collins Councilmember Gerry Horak has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2012 Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Steering Committee. This Committee has the lead responsibility for developing NLC federal policy positions on issues involving air quality, water quality, energy policy, national wetlands policy, noise control, and solid and hazardous waste management.

As a member of the committee, Councilmember Horak will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions, while advocating on behalf of America’s cities and towns on Capitol Hill, with the Administration, and at home. For information on NLC’s committees and councils, visit nlc.org.

Councilmember Horak was elected to the Fort Collins City Council April 5, 2011 to represent the citizens of District 6 (northwest Fort Collins). He has been elected four times to represent the citizens of northwest Fort Collins and served on the city council from 1981-1994. During that time he also served on the Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Steering Committee.

Currently, Horak serves as Vice President for CSS-Dynamac, a science and technology company, headquartered in the Washington DC area with offices and projects throughout the US. He conducts business development activities to grow the company as well as managing natural resource projects.
