Xeriscape from the Ground Up will guide you through the steps needed to start converting an area of your yard into a beautiful, water-saving landscape. Jim Tolstrup, director of Loveland’s High Plains Environmental Center, will present, 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Dr. This free program is the first of two landscape programs in the annual Residential Environmental Series.
Xeriscape by Design, April 4 (same time and location), featuring Joanie Schneider of Sustainescapes, will provide you with the tools to prepare a landscape design for year-round enjoyment. Learn the landscape designer’s rules of thumb for adding structure and suitable plant selections.
Both programs are recommended for residents who plan to sign up for a Xeriscape Design Clinic April 25 and 28. Sponsored Fort Collins Utilities and the Gardens on Spring Creek, the clinics offer a private, 1½-hour session with a landscape design professional to create a xeriscape plan for a portion of your yard.
