On February 15, 2012 at approximately 6:02 pm, Fort Collins Police were notified of a two vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of south Taft Hill Road and Clearview Avenue. A 1987 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Brandon Calhoon, 20, of Fort Collins, was traveling southbound on Taft Hill Road and attempted a left turn onto Clearview Avenue. A 2001 GMC Sierra pickup, driven by Patrick Korte, 34, of Fort Collins, was traveling northbound when the Jeep turned across the roadway. The two vehicles collided.

The Jeep rotated clockwise after impact and came to rest on Clearview Avenue facing westbound. The GMC slid to a stop against the east curb of Taft Hill Road facing north.

Two passengers from the Jeep were treated at area hospitals: Sean Patten, 38, of Fort Collins, was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies by ambulance while David Stanaway went to Poudre Valley Hospital by private car for his injuries. Neither driver reported injuries.

Taft Hill Road was closed for approximately 4 hours while police conducted the investigation. It is not believed that excessive speed, drugs, or alcohol contributed to the collision.

Anyone that has information about the crash, that has not yet given a statement, is asked to call Officer David Kaes at 970-221-6555
