On October 19, the City of Fort Collins Capital Projects Group will begin a two-month bridge replacement project at the intersection of Whitcomb and Magnolia Streets. The existing bridge is structurally deficient and is in need of repair in several spots. The intersection will be closed for the duration of the project. Local residents will still have access to on street parking adjacent to their properties. Detour signs will route motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians around the construction zone.

The concrete box culvert which conveys irrigation water for the Arthur Ditch Company will be removed and replaced. Recycled asphalt will be placed in the improvement area for the winter, with permanent paving scheduled in April 2010.

The project is scheduled to be completed by late December 2009. Contact Project Manager Tim Kemp at 970-416-2719 or Project Inspector Craig Farver at 970-222-0854 with questions or concerns.
