LOTTERY GIVING AWAY FREE SCRATCH TICKETS JUNE 12TH
FORT COLLINS, June 10, 2009 – To celebrate achieving $5 billion in Scratch ticket sales, the Colorado Lottery will give away free $5 Scratch tickets on June 12th. Lottery staffers will distribute the free tickets at locations in Fort Collins, Denver, Pueblo and Grand Junction, starting at 11 a.m.
“This is our way of thanking the people of Colorado for their support through out the years,” said Colorado Lottery Director Jack Boehm. “Proceeds from our strong Scratch ticket sales have helped protect Colorado’s natural beauty and expanded the state’s reputation as a great place to live and play.”
Northern Colorado residents can obtain a free ticket at the Northside Aztlan Community Center, 112 E. Willow, Fort Collins. The center will be offering a free day in honor of the occasion. Tickets will be distributed while supplies last or until 1 p.m. Approximately 1,000 tickets will be available, and there is a one ticket per person limit. No purchase is necessary.
Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games – Scratch, Powerball, Lotto, and Cash 5 - stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. Celebrating its 26th year, the Lottery has returned more than $2 billion to the state of Colorado since its creation. Through Great Outdoors Colorado, the Conservation Trust Fund and Colorado State Parks, the Lottery has provided funding for new trails, precious open space and wildlife protection. Larimer County has received $78.3 million in proceeds since the Lottery’s inception.
