On December 18, 2005 at 2:26 a.m., Fort Collins Police Services located an accident at 41 S Taft Hill Road. When the officer arrived on scene he found that a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, occupied by two males had collided with a tree on the west side of S. Taft Hill road.
The Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling northbound on S. Taft Hill road when the vehicle lost control and went into a sideways skid. The vehicle slid for approximately 100 feet where it jumped the curb and hit a tree on the passenger side of the vehicle. The passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver Jared Glass, was transported to Poudre Valley Hospital for various injuries and will be taken to the Larimer County Detention Center for unrelated charges.
The Fort Collins Police C.R.A.S.H. (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team responded to investigate. South Taft Hill road was closed in both directions for approximately 3 hours.
The name of the passenger will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s office once all family notifications have been made.
The investigation is continuing, and anyone who has information or witnessed the accident should contact Officer Scott Crumbaker at 970-221-6555.
