Fort Collins Police CRASH Team Investigation

On June 30, 2017 at approximately 12:33 pm, Fort Collins Police were notified of an injury collision involving a motorcycle and passenger car in the 5800 block of South College Avenue.

A 2004 Suzuki GSX motorcycle, driven by Alex Aurand, 21, was travelling south in the southbound lanes of the 5800 block of South College Avenue when a 2011 Ford Focus, driven by Cameron Salazar, 22, drove north into southbound lanes of College Avenue and collided head-on with the Suzuki motorcycle.

Aurand was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries. Salazar was transported to Poudre Valley Hospital with minor injuries.

The 5800 block of South College Avenue was closed for approximately 4.5 hours while the Fort Collins Police CRASH Team investigated the incident. Police suspect drugs may have been a factor in the collision. The investigation is on-going and charges are pending.
