Police Chief Recruitment Coffee Talks

The City of Fort Collins is in the process of hiring a new Police Chief and wants the community’s input regarding the ideal candidate.

City Manager Darin Atteberry is hosting two coffee talks providing residents the opportunity to offer input on what traits and characteristics they would like to see in the next Police Chief.

“As we move forward, I hope you will take the time to share your thoughts through one of the many public input opportunities,” Atteberry said. “If you have specific feedback, of course you are also welcome to email me or contact my office. This is an important and highly visible position, and I hope to hear a wide variety of perspectives from across the entire community.”

All feedback from the coffee talks will be weighed and considered by Atteberry and City leadership when looking for the new police chief.

The City is in the process of conducting a nationwide search for a new Chief following the resignation of former Police Chief John Hutto on May 12.

The two Coffee Talks will take place:

  • 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 19 at the Fort Collins Senior Center Twinberry Room, 1200 Raintree Dr.
  • 10-Noon – Tuesday, June 20 at the 215 N. Mason St. Community Room

Light refreshments will be served at both of the informal events where citizens are encouraged to come with questions, comments and thoughts on what the future of Fort Collins Police Services should look like.
