NOTICE: Due to worsening conditions of the road base and continued rain, the southbound lane of Mason Street between Mountain Street and the north side Oak Street has been closed to all traffic throughout today and tonight.

Crews will be working tonight, Friday night, Sept. 20 and possibly Saturday night, Sept. 21 to finish paving between Mountain Avenue and Laurel Street. The decision has been made to work through these nights due to conditions and the need to complete remaining work without prolonged exposure.

Work occurs AT NIGHT from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Mason Street will also be closed at the east-west Street intersections to the work zone during these hours.

The project schedule is an estimate based on favorable conditions; variances may occur due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

For more information, visit fcgov.com/maxconstruction or call the MAX construction hotline, 970-416-2617.

###

In preparation for MAX Bus Rapid Transit, Mason Street from Laurel Street to Maple Street is scheduled to be repaved in September as part of the City of Fort Collins 2013 Street Maintenance Program. At this time, Mason Street will also be re-striped to simplify mixed traffic patterns and improve safety.

Suggested detour routes during working hours include Howes Street, Remington Street and College Avenue.

As each section of work is finished, it will be striped and marked according to the new striping plan (details on this plan can be found at fcgov.com/maxconstruction).
