Overland Trail from Mulberry Street to Drake Road, and continuing south to Spring Canyon Community Park, has been selected for resurfacing as part of the City of Fort Collins 2013 Street Maintenance Program.

Construction will have two distinct phases. The first phase will start September 7 and last approximately five to seven days. Phase two will start the week of September 16 and last approximately seven to nine days. This two-phase street maintenance treatment is called Hot Applied Chip Overlay (HACO). This process combines a chip seal and thin asphalt overlay.

During the first phase which involves chip seal, please drive slowly as loose rock will be present on the road. Please be patient as crews will sweep up the debris in preparation for the second and final phase. The second phase is an asphalt overlay, which will eliminate any loose material and provide the strong wearing surface that provides a smooth ride on the street.

Overland Trail will remain open during resurfacing; however, lane closures will be needed to perform the work.

Project dates are estimates based on favorable conditions; schedule variances may occur due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Work Zone Information
Typical working hours are weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; however, work may occur outside these times or on the weekends to expedite the work. Lane closures will be used in most locations; alternate routes are suggested to avoid the construction zones. Please carefully follow the flaggers’ directions at all times and proceed with caution.

Thank you in advance for your patience. For more information about the Street Maintenance Program, including weekly project updates, visit fcgov.com/smp.
