MAX Construction Alert: Spring Creek Trail Closure, August 5 through mid-September

A segment of the Spring Creek Trail between the Mason Trail and College Avenue will be closed beginning Monday, August 5, 2013 for MAX construction activities. This closure will last approximately six weeks, into mid-September. Crews will extend the existing underpass at the railroad tracks west of College Avenue as part of the construction of the MAX Bus Rapid Transit system.

Cyclists and pedestrians, please watch for posted detour routes on the Spring Creek Trail during this closure. There are no vehicular traffic impacts associated with this stage of construction.

Important note regarding other work on the Spring Creek Trail
Stormwater Utilities will also perform maintenance activities along the Spring Creek Trail during the first two weeks of August. Work will begin west of the Centre Avenue underpass and proceed east towards Lemay Avenue along the Spring Creek Trail. Some segments of the trail will be closed to users during the maintenance period, and detours will be posted.

MAX is on the Way!
Construction of the MAX Bus Rapid Transit system will continue until early 2014, with MAX service beginning in May 2014. MAX will offer passengers efficiency and convenience, with 12 stations and 2 transit centers between Downtown and Harmony Road, service every 10 minutes, and real-time bus arrival information at each station. MAX will connect Downtown Fort Collins, Colorado State University, Midtown and south Fort Collins, providing many new economic redevelopment opportunities near station locations.
