July 26, 2013 (FORT COLLINS, CO) – The City of Fort Collins Forestry Division has scheduled a major tree removal project along the east side of Timberline Road July 29-August 1. The tree removal will occur from the intersection of Timberline and Vine and extend about one quarter mile south of the intersection. The trees will be removed due to safety issues and concerns. The trees being removed are located on City property.
Currently the tree removal is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 29 and will be completed on Wednesday, July 31. The project may extend into Thursday if necessary. There will be limited access to businesses and property owners during the tree removal when Timberline Road is closed. Access to private property will be available.
The 23 trees being removed are in an advanced state of decline and present public safety concerns. Other trees in the area will be pruned and assessed. In the future new trees will be planted in this area to City standards. All the wood generated from this project will be recycled into mulch and used on City projects or offered to citizens through distribution opportunities.
Your cooperation and patience is appreciated as work crews complete this project safely and efficiently.
