The extension of the Fossil Creek Trail from the Cathy Fromme Prairie to the Spring Canyon Community Park and Spring Creek Trail is complete. The project began in early April and finished this week. The trail completion has long been a goal of the City of Fort Collins and now connects nearly seven miles of Spring Creek Trail to more than two miles of the Fossil Creek Trail.
Trail Highlights In addition to the paved trail, pedestrians and bicyclist travel over a 100 ft. bridge covering a dry creek bed and travel under County Road 38E (west side of Harmony Road). The trail system provides a safe, highly connective path from south Fort Collins, to western Fort Collins and east towards Colorado State University and Downtown Fort Collins.
Project Funding Multiple funding sources made this project a reality. The $1.4 million project was supported by Keep Fort Collins Great tax dollars, the City’s Natural Areas trail program, and a grant from Great Outdoors Colorado.
The project staff and contractors appreciate the public’s patience during construction. Please ride safely.
