Release Date: Thursday, October 29th, 2009
Contact Information:
Kim Newcomer, Public Relations Coordinator, 221-6207,
As of 2:40 p.m. on October 29, the City of Fort Collins snow emergency declaration is no longer in effect. Weather conditions have improved and the roads have been substantially cleared of snow. Parking on designated snow emergency routes is no longer prohibited.

Major arterials and collector streets are in good condition. Residents are still encouraged to use caution when driving and allow extra time when traveling.

All City buildings and facilities are now open according to regular schedules.

Definition/Purpose
A "snow emergency" declaration is used to notify the community that street conditions are deteriorating and public cooperation is needed to clear emergency snow routes. Consequently, during a snow emergency parking on any streets designated as "snow emergency routes" is prohibited.
