Police Host Community Meeting

On Wednesday, November 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Fort Collins Police Services will conduct a community meeting at the Christ Center Community Church located at 2700 S. Lemay Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado. The meeting is being held pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes to provide information concerning the release of a Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) into the community. The purpose of the meeting is to specifically provide notification of this offender and generally enhance public safety and protection. Information will be presented by a team of professionals involved in the management of sex offenders in our community.
The individual involved in this notification is Jason Matthew Ballard (D.O.B. 10-09-78). Mr. Ballard was the subject of a community notification meeting on August 24, 2005 when he was released from the Colorado Department of Corrections and moved to 1100 Lory Street in Fort Collins. Mr. Ballard has recently purchased a home and had relocated to 3419 Hampton Drive, Fort Collins, Colorado. Residents in the area surrounding his new home have been notified. In July 1998, Mr. Ballard was charged with Second Degree Sexual Assault, victim incapable of giving consent. On October 21, 1999 Mr. Ballard was convicted at trial of the above charge and on December 13, 1999, Mr. Ballard was sentenced to 7 years to the Department of Corrections and was released from the Department of Corrections in August of 2005 and has since completed his sentence and is NOT subject to any parole or probation supervision. Specific information regarding the offender will be released at the meeting. No other information will be released prior to the meeting. |
