The Fort Collins Museum & Discovery Science Center has enlisted the help of students in a class provided by the Anthropology Department at Colorado State University in reinterpreting ethnographic, archaeological, and historical data in relation to the Native Americans that lived and still do live in Fort Collins and surrounding areas. The class, Indians of North America, is comprised of Juniors and Seniors at CSU, in many different departments. The students are learning about the historical and contemporary lives of Native Americans in North America. As part of the class the students are working with the Fort Collins Museum & Discovery Science Center to find more information and/or reinterpret current information on collections and present interpretive programs that will be useful for the museum in creating informative and engaging exhibits for the public.

In order to make an impact with their work the students will be presenting their information to the Fort Collins Museum & Discovery Science Center, members of the Department of Anthropology, and local media. The presentation will take place on Monday, November 16th, 2009 from 1:00PM - 2:00PM in the Lory Student Center in room 213-215.
