Purpose
The Neighborhood Sign Recognition Program is intended to recognize and reward local neighborhood organizations who are committed to maintaining and improving the quality of life for all neighborhood residents. For purposes of this program, a neighborhood organization is defined as a group of people organized within the boundaries of a "neighborhood" for the purpose of considering and acting upon a broad range of issues affecting their neighborhood.
For neighborhoods meeting the requirements listed below, the City will install, free of charge, 2 attractive signs identifying the neighborhood. Appendix A illustrates these signs.
Who is Eligible?
Eligible neighborhood organizations must meet the following requirements:
- Have established boundaries, which include one or more neighborhoods within the city and no fewer than 200* households.
- Have at least one official elected representative.

- Hold meetings open to the entire membership, and hold a minimum of one meeting per year.
- Notify all residents within the organization boundaries of neighborhood meetings.
- File and maintain a set of bylaws at the Neighborhood Services Office.
*Exceptions can be made for geographically isolated neighborhoods.

City Council members and the City Manager would like the opportunity to formally recognize your neighborhood organization. Neighborhood representatives are invited to receive their signs at a short ceremony prior to the nearest scheduled City Council meeting. Following that ceremony, Neighborhood Services Office staff will make arrangements for the prompt installation of your neighborhood's signs.
