Natural Areas Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering Comes Naturally!

Become part of an enthusiastic community that shares your passion for the outdoors and conservation. Volunteers are critical in all parts of the Natural Areas Department. Each year volunteers donate thousands of hours to help conserve fragile ecosystems, protect wildlife habitats and educate the public. Click below for details on each opportunity. Volunteer today!

  • One Day Projects such as Earth Day, National Trails Day, restoration projects, and trail work are available for groups and individuals.
  • Short Term Projects such as wildflower seed packaging.
  • Longer Term Projects include Master Naturalist, Master Naturalist Assistant, Volunteer Ranger Assistant, and Adopt-a-Natural Area.
