Summary:
The Natural Areas Public Improvements Maintenance Worker is a seasonal (3- to 10-month) position with the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department. The employee performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in natural areas maintenance. These activities can include: trail and fence construction, repair, and maintenance; trash and litter removal; vault toilet cleaning; installation of signs; construction and repairs of public improvements; planting and seeding; weed control; installation and repair of irrigation systems; and other maintenance activities on natural area sites of varying size and composition. This is an hourly position that does not provide sick leave, insurance or retirement benefits. The employee is paid for standard City holidays. If the employee is required to work on a holiday, the employee is given another day off as a substitute; day to be determined by the employee’s supervisor. The employee is expected to work 40 hours/week and is paid time and a half for hours worked beyond 40 each week.
